Kids’ Nutrition – Back To School Checklist
It’s that time of year again, time for the little ones to go back to school. It’s a busy time for all and when the backpacks are full, school supplies have been ticked off and the new term is underway, consistency in their daily diet and making sure they have all they need when it comes to nutrition is an ongoing check list for both us and them.
The Importance of Protein
Protein is especially important as it helps make up the solid tissue in our body. That is why it is a good idea to make sure you and your kids are taking in protein at every meal.
A big advantage of protein is that it is by far the most filling of the three food groups (protein, fats and carbohydrates).
It can also help curb your appetite because of the way it helps reduce Ghrelin levels (the hormone that helps you feel hungry).
It also helps boost the levels of the hormone that helps you feel full.
You can get your protein mainly from meat, fish, poultry, eggs, nuts, seeds, beans, quinoa, etc.
Unfortunately for many parents, their children may be fussy eaters and not very interested in eating enough of these foods on a regular basis.
This can create a bit of struggle making sure they are getting in all that they need in their diet.
A great way around this is to add food supplements that have been created with children in mind. At Tony Quinn Educohealth we can provide you with the very best in Kid’s nutritional supplements.
Protein – Their Daily Power-Up
Proform Chocolate Flavoured Drink is our instant Protein supplement for Children. It tastes great and supplies exactly what they need protein-wise.
Proform is a natural dairy based protein made from casein the substance from which cheese is made.
Unlike cheese which can have added salt and fat, the Proform protein-shakes are low in fat and carbohydrates and can help play a big role in having our little ones operating at their best.
Vitamin C – Their Daily Defence in a Delicious Citrus Drink.
Energy C is a favourite of those seeking a refreshing way to support their kid’s immune system now that they will be mingling more and especially as we move into the colder seasons.
This Vitamin C drink tastes delicious and comes in individual serving sachets.
It contains 1000mg of Vitamin C in one serving, with 22 nutrients, 8 vitamins including zinc and real orange powder and all in a single sachet.
Vitamin D – Their Daily Boost
When it comes to supporting a growing child’s development and aiding calcium absorption, vitamin D helps supports healthy bones and teeth, contributes to a healthy immune system, and supports normal muscle function.
